Give Feedback on New Play Elements Planned for Ehlert Park Renovation Project

As the Brookfield Department of Parks and Recreation finalizes its plans for a major improvement to Ehlert Park, we’re inviting residents to provide their valuable feedback on the play elements that will be installed as part of the project.

On Thursday, May 9 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the Brookfield Village Hall, 8820 Brookfield Ave., we are hosting an Open House where you can share your thoughts and ideas for elements to improve the play experience for children of all ages.

The project includes renovation of the southwest quadrant of Ehlert Park, and a key feature is creating a fully accessible play environment with a poured-in-place rubber surface to dramatically enhance accessibility.

Other improvements include renovating the picnic shelter, installing a game table area and picnic tables, renovating the existing ballfield and creating a new soccer field. There will also be trail improvements to provide accessible connections to all areas. The memorial garden will also be renovated and green landscape features, such as a rain garden with native planting, are also part of the plan.

Whether you are a parent, caregiver or simply a concerned resident, your input is crucial in helping us create a fun and safe environment for our children to play and explore. Don’t miss this chance to have your voice heard and make a positive impact on our community.

If you are unable to make the Open House, please provide feedback by emailing Recreation Director Luke Gundersen at lgundersen@brookfieldil.gov.
