The Village of Brookfield Staff has been working around the clock since Friday morning to meet emergency needs of the residents.  Below is some information that may be helpful if you are affected by high water...

The Village of Brookfield has delivered over 4000 sandbags to the residents of the Village.  More sandbags are being delivered as needed.

The Village of Brookfield Public Safety Departments have been responding to all requests of assistance for sandbags.  Please contact the Department of Public Works if sandbags are needed.

If flooding worsens and shelter is needed, the following locations will be available for shelter:

Riverside Village Hall

Brookfield Village Hall

Church of Christ at 3700 Forest in Brookfield

These locations will be available for residents.

The Village of Brookfield will be re-surfacing, re-striping and re-numbering the Village’s daily commuter parking lot beginning Monday, September 15th.  The lot will be unavailable for use until the morning of Monday, September 22nd when the work will be completed.

The resurfacing project is part of a $200,000 grant that will allow the Village to re-surface the commuter lot and renovate the Prairie Avenue Train Station.  Funding for the projects was received in cooperation with METRA, Burlington Northern Rail Road, and the West Suburban Mass Transit District.

Daily commuters are asked to find parking along the Burlington Tracks in one of the permitted commuter spaces either on the north or south sides during the construction period.  The Police Department will suspend the permit parking restrictions so our commuters can park in these spaces without being cited.

We realize there will be some minor inconvenience to our commuters during this time.  We appreciate your patience with this project as it will enhance the long term viability of the commuter lot.

Thank you,

Riccardo F. Ginex

Village Manager
