Nuclear Waste Recycling Plan Ended

West Cook Mayors and Lyons Township Supervisor Pat Rogers Take Leadership Role to Prevent Nuclear Waste in Region.

 

River Grove - IL  -  As a result of the proactive leadership of the West Central Municipal Conference (WCMC), the West Cook County Solid Waste Agency (WCCSWA), and Lyons Township Supervisor Pat Rogers, the United States Department of Energy has announced it is not considering Argonne National Laboratory or an area near Morris as their proposed sites for recycling of nuclear waste.

Brookfield Babe Ruth Senior All Star Team Advances!

July 20, 2008, Danville, IL The Brookfield Babe Ruth Baseball Senior All-Star team won the Illinois Babe Ruth Baseball Championship this weekend in Danville, IL.  They defeated  Effingham, Southeast Suburban, and LaGrange twice, in a field of seven teams to win the championship. The hitting was outstanding by all of the players;  with home runs by Mike Stockwell (2), Jason Slechta, Pat Cullen, Mike Stafford and John Kleinmeyer. The pitching was led by Kyle Porter, James Freeman, and John Kleinmayer who threw a two-hitter to win the championship. They will represent Illinois in the Babe Ruth Ohio Valley Tournament beginning Friday July 25th in Calumet City, IL.  Their first game will be Saturday July 26th at 10:00am vs. the winner of the Kentucky and Indiana game.  . 

July 26, 2008 Calumet City, IL Brookfield will advance in the Babe Ruth Ohio Valley Tournament after a first round victory against Western Kentucky, defeating them 3-1.  John Kleinmeyer pitched a complete game, four hitter.  Jason Slechta slammed a three run home run in the third inning accounting for the three Brookfield runs.  Brookfield now moves on in the tournament to face xxxxx tomorrow afternoon at 12:30pm.

July 27, 2008 Calumet City, IL Brookfield defeated Wisconsin today in 10 innings by a score of 8-7, to advance to the Ohio Valley semi finals.  Kyle Porter got the victory; he came in as a reliever in the fourth inning and gave up only 1 hit in 7 innings.  He also drove in the winning run in the tenth inning for Brookfield’s victory.  Brookfield’s next game is Monday 7/28/08 at 3:00pm in the Babe Ruth Ohio Valley Tournament semi final Championship.

 July 28, 2008 Calumet City, IL Brookfield Babe Ruth Baseball beat the Hammond Chiefs today by a score of 7-6,and advances to the Babe Ruth Ohio Midwest Championship game tomorrow.  Another strong, complete game pitched by John Kleinmeyer on one days rest.  Home runs were hit by Mike Stockwell, Jason Slechta and Cody Brown. They will play tomorrow again afternoon.  One more victory by Brookfield will put them in the 2008 Babe Ruth World Series.

 


Brookfield Babe Ruth Baseball Senior All Star Team Wins!

The Brookfield Babe Ruth Baseball Senior All Star team (16-18 year olds) won the Babe Ruth Baseball Illinois State Championship!  They will now move on to the Babe Ruth Baseball U.S. regional play-offs beginning next weekend.
