The Village of Brookfield Community Development Department is charged with four main functions. Find more information about each function and helpful information below. 

Building, Permitting, and Inspections

Plan review, property resale inspections, business license inspections, and all construction project inspections.
Please email permits@brookfieldil.gov to schedule an inspection.

Code Enforcement and Property Maintenance

You may receive a Notice of Violation or notice from one of our inspectors informing you of a property maintenance violation.  If you receive a Notice of Violation, please make arrangements to correct the code violation within the given time frame. If you need to report a property maintenance violation, fill out the online form on this webpage.

Planning, Land-use, and Zoning

Ensuring land uses are compatible with and development follows zoning regulations and complies with stormwater programs in the Village. Long-range planning efforts implement the visions and goals of the community through Village-adopted documents and plans.
